Place hydraulic filter On the return side after last control valve this will keep clean oil going back into the hydraulic reservoir. The reason filter is on the return is because most wear is from pump, vales, cylinders, hydraulic motors
Make sure filter return line is directed into the oil with a deffuser installed in the hydraulic reservoir. This will help in the prevention of foaming oil and air bubbles.
